Description
The Manuka plant is a member of the tea tree family and the honey produced from it has a distinctive, slightly bitter taste. This stronger flavoured honey is delicious in meat marinades and in baking, but is also perfect in a hot drink or by the spoonful.
We believe in retaining all of the nutritional content in our honey by packing it in its natural, raw state (not fine filtered or heat treated) – fresh from the hive. Because of this, the honey is liquid when freshly packed but the sugar crystals will eventually naturally granulate to create more of a firm, creamed honey consistency. To speed this process up you can make the honey granulate faster by storing the jar in the fridge. If you prefer your honey liquid, slowly warm it by standing the jar in a bowl of warm water and stir. Just be aware that heating your honey over 40 degrees celcius will result in it starting to lose some of its natural goodness, so warming it slowly and gently is key! To keep the honey liquid longer you can store it in the freezer to slow the granulation process.
All our honey is compliant and has passed any relevant tutin tests
