Bush Honey is a blend of the native New Zealand bush flora. Being a fusion of both mellow and bolder flavours, it is an ideal honey to use as a table spread and in cooking as a classic addition to sweet and savoury dishes, glazes and marinades.
We pack our honey in liquid form but over time it will start to crystalise and firm up like creamed honey because our honey is not treated at high temperatures to prevent crystalisation or fine filtered, which ensures that all of the pollens, vitamins and minerals that are naturally occurring in the honey are retained. If you prefer a liquid over a firm consistency, just slowly and gently warm the honey (eg in a water bath) and it will return to a runny consistency without losing this goodness.
Tasman Gold honey is also available in smaller jars and in a number of different honey varieties. Our beeswax and honey comes from our hives spread out over the Tasman area of the South Island. We are extremely passionate about our bees and their health so we prefer to use organic hive treatments and keep honey on our hives for the bees to avoid wherever possible using traditional chemical treatments or feeding sugar.
All our honey is compliant and has passed any relevant tutin tests
